Buying a Sukkah Online:

What to Check Before You Click

Shopping online for a sukkah is fast, convenient, and sometimes even exciting. But before you hit “Add to Cart,” it’s important to ask the right questions — because not every sukkah sold online is halachically valid, durable, or worth your money.

Here’s what you must check before you order your sukkah online:

1. Is the Sukkah Halachically Valid?

The #1 priority in buying a sukkah is ensuring it meets the basic halachic requirements:

Minimum 2 full walls and a partial third

Height between 10 tefachim and 20 amot

Walls that are stable and don’t flap in the wind

Open to the sky – nothing above the schach

📘 Source: Shulchan Aruch O.C. 630–633

Tip: Look for a sukkah that explicitly states it is "halachically approved" or has been reviewed by a rav.

2. What Are the Walls Made Of?

Walls can be made of fabric, wood, plastic, or metal — but not all are equal:

Thin, lightweight fabric? May flap in the wind and be invalid without extra support.

Pre-framed sukkot (like ours!) offer strong, wind-resistant designs that stay halachically kosher and look great.

Look for: reinforced corners, ties, or frame support.

3. What Size Options Are Available?

Before buying:

Measure your space (yard, porch, driveway).

Consider how many people will be eating inside.

Check the interior dimensions – some sukkahs list exterior size only!

Pro Tip: A sukkah that fits 6–8 people comfortably is about 8' x 10'.

4. Does the Price Include the Schach?

Many sukkahs online don’t include the schach, or include materials that are not kosher (e.g., plastic mats).

Ask:

Is the schach included?

Is it certified?

Which hashgacha does it have?

At KosherSukkahShop.com, our sukkah kits come with the option to add certified schach — under Badatz Eidah HaChareidis, the gold standard in kosher certification.

5. What’s the Shipping Time and Assembly Like?

Check:

How long will it take to arrive?

Are tools required for assembly?

Can one person build it alone?

Our sukkahs are designed for quick assembly, no tools required, and ship fast across the USA — so you’re ready in time for Sukkot.

6. Can You Talk to a Real Person?

If you have a question — who answers it?
Reliable sellers have real support and real halachic knowledge.
